Thank you so much to those of you who were able to make it to Open House! If you couldn't make it, no worries! I have sent the information home. Just let me know if you have any questions.
REMINDERS
First, I would like for all of the students to have a binder
with pockets for the agenda and any paperwork coming home or for you to send money/notes. If you have not
already sent your child with a binder, I would love it if all of the students
could have one.
Second, please remember to send transportation changes in
the agenda. You can write the note in the agenda as I will be checking them
daily. I do not require signatures daily, but please check it daily as well for
important notes from me or from school.
Third, please send a snack for your child every day.
Last, please purchase a STEM t-shirt if you have not
already.
WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD BE LEARNING THIS WEEK?
We will begin homework this week. The homework will come home on Monday and should be returned on Friday. The students will glue the spelling words and spelling choice board into the Spelling journal.
In Language Arts, we will continue to talk about Reading and Writing workshop and what it should look like. We are practicing Read to Self and Read to Someone stamina. Hopefully, we will be able to talk about what "Listen to Reading" should look like. I will give the students the logins for Read Theory, RAZ Kids, and Freckle. This website are all on my blog.
In Social Studies, we will be talking about rules and laws and government leaders. Eventually, I would like the students to be able to compare and contrast the duties of the president, governor, and mayor.
In Math, we will be working on place value - hundreds, tens, and ones. The students will be practicing how to take a standard number and write the word form, expanded form and pictorial form (hundreds, tens, and ones).
