Week of January 6

Happy New Year Parents!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

What will your child be learning this week?

In Math, we are working on telling time to the five minutes. Students should be able to tell time and write time. We will discuss half hours/half past and quarter hours/quarter til and quarter past. We will also work on some extensions to the one minute and elapsed time for students mastering five minutes.
In Reading, we are working on some New Years's activities as well as summarizing information. We will begin discussing the difference between retelling and summarizing.
In Writing, we will begin Hero writing.
In Social Studies, we will begin discussing Martin Luther King.

We went to the Science Lab yesterday to launch the rockets made before the break.
