Week of April 9

Hello Parents!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break, whether you traveled or stayed home! I cannot believe we are on the home stretch! Only 6 more weeks of school. There is so much to do!

What is your child learning this week?
In Math, we will continue learning about the defining and non-defining attributes of 2D shapes, and we will begin to learn about partitioning. Students will be required to partition shapes into halves and fourths, but we will go far beyond that!
In Social Studies, we will continue learning about George Washington Carver. This will integrate with Language Arts where we will write an informational piece about George Washington Carver.
Also in Reading/Language Arts, we will be comparing and contrasting different texts on the same subject.

Please remind your children that this week is testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. We have been talking a lot about how important it is to be very quiet in the class room during testing.

Also, remember that our lunch will be at 10:36 during testing.

Dear Parents,

This year our school is participating the “Gimme 5 for Education” campaign to raise funds for the Cobb Schools Foundation and our school!  All students who donate will be entered into a drawing to win 2 Braves tickets!

The Cobb Schools Foundation is the only non-profit organization that supports all of our 112 schools, staff and students in Cobb County School District.  All funds collected will directly benefit our schools through Foundation supported scholarships, grants and programs for our schools, students and staff.

Help us to reach our goal of 100% participation by making a $5 tax-deductible contribution and return it to school today!

Give a “High 5” to education!

Help support our schools & students!  Donations can be sent to the school or donate online by visiting
