Hello Parents! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

In Language Arts, we will be discussing story structure and context clues, and wrapping up collective nouns.
In Math, we are continuing to count coins, and solve word problems using coins. We will also be doing a lot of review and practice since report cards are coming up.

Hello Parents! Hope everyone had a wonderful Fall break.

In Language Arts, we will be discussing collection nouns and story structure. 
In Science, we are continuing our unit on Matter, and our matter STEM activity will be on Friday.
In Math, we are continuing to count coins and are beginning problem solving with coins.   

REMINDERS

The reading challenge is due Wednesday.

SLT Inauguration is Thursday. Wear red, white, blue.

Picture day is Thursday.

STEM day is Friday. Wear STEM t-shirt. We are still in need of flour, salt, and plastic cups.

RED RIBBON WEEK

Red Ribbon Week Theme: Send A Message. Stay Drug Free.

October 21-25, 2019

Red Ribbon Week is a national event that promotes drug awareness and prevention each year. At Addison, we use this week to encourage our students to make good choices. We hope you will support us in celebrating happy, healthy choices at home! J

Monday – “Make a pledge Monday!”  –   At the start of this nationally recognized Red Ribbon Week – Students will sign class pledge to show that they pledge to live a healthy life! Students will receive red ribbon stickers and pencils.

Tuesday – “Hats Off to Being Drug Free!” – Students will wear hats to show support.   

Wednesday – “Wear Red Wednesday!”  Wear red to support a healthy life!

Thursday – “Don’t Let Drugs Mix You Up!” – Students will wear mismatched clothes.

Friday – “Team up against drugs!”- Wear your favorite team gear or Addison spirit wear. 

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 16TH

Hello Parents! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I just wanted to say thank you for the donations of snacks, playdoh, Simon, treasure chest items, and the soccer ball for the classroom. I really appreciate it. If anyone would like to help with donations, we still need hand sanitizer, clorox cleaning wipes or baby wipes (we clean the desks a lot) :), playground equipment (balls, jump ropes, etc.), brain teaser games, and we always need snacks. If anyone has a jigsaw puzzle they want to get rid of, I am looking to get one of those, also.

WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD BE LEARNING THIS WEEK?

In Language Arts, we will continue discussing how to analyze characters and visualizing as we read. 
In Science, we are beginning our unit on Matter. The students will have a digital lesson(s) they will complete, and we will be doing activities with matter in the classroom. They have already gotten a head start with this in the Science lab making pancakes and ice cream with Mrs. Knobbe.
In Math, we are continuing problem solving. Also, we will review identifying and counting bills and coins. This will move us into problem solving with money.   

REMINDERS

• Please keep an eye out for the field trip form that came home with the form regarding lunch for the field trip. 
• Please remember to send a snack for your child each day. 
• Please read with your child or have your child read for at least 20 minutes each night.
• Please write transportation changes (or any other notes) in the agenda.
