Week of November 4th

Hello Parents! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween if you celebrated, and a wonderful weekend!

What will your child be learning this week?
In Language Arts, we are discussing possessive nouns and comparing them with contractions. We are also planning to finish informational papers/books on Bats.
In Math, we are continuing to review and practice addition and subtraction strategies. This week we are reviewing missing addend, balancing equations, and fact families. Then, we are beginning to practice base ten and expanded form strategies for two-digit addition. We will then move into the hundreds chart strategy for two-digit addition.
In Social Studies, we are learning about the Creek and Cherokee. We will discuss locations significant to the Creek and Cherokee, how they adapted to and were influenced by their environments, how the regions they lived affected their lives, compare their regions to where we live, and how they used their local resources.
